FAQ

The basic package price is $250.  What does that include?

It includes the time spent photographing your pet, the time and expense of traveling to and from your home, post-session image preparation time, and prints: four 5x7s and one 8x10.  Sessions are typically  1 1/2  to 3 hours, but some may take more time and some may be a lot shorter, depending on your pet's comfort level, and/or the number of pets being photographed.

I never look at the clock.  What is important to me is getting ‘that’ shot.  I want you to have the best possible photos I can get for you. I will gladly stay as long as it takes at no additional cost (it is up to your photographer to decide if they have the shots they need). After I leave you, I edit the whole session. I correct the photos for color, brightness and contrast, and I give some of the photos special effects.

Once you choose your portraits from your private on-line gallery, it will take about 2 weeks to get your prints in the mail.

Your basic package includes:

-Four 5x7 and one 8x10 print (Color and/or Black and White).
-Artist's time and creativity.
-Pre-session consultation by phone, e-mail or in person.
-Background set up in your home when backgrounds are used.
-Post-session image preparation (including first round edit and effects).
-Private online proof gallery which you can share with friends and family.
-Second round of touch-up on all prints that are ordered.
-Brightness and color correction on each image printed.

I also offer for purchase:

- a High-Res CD
- additional prints
- outsize photos
- canvas ‘gallery wraps’

Note, please, that a CD is NOT included in the basic package. Note also, while there is a $30 charge for each additional pet or human with pet, you will receive 2 additional 5x7 prints for each.

Full session fee is due at the end of the shoot.

So, what can I expect and what do I need to do to prepare for the session?

While I will ask you to schedule your appointment during the times your home gets its best natural lighting, it is not entirely necessary.  I only shoot during daylight hours.  I am available seven days a week and I welcome weekend sessions, but be sure to schedule a weekend session well in advance of when you hope to have the photos.

I am available to residents within the 5 Boroughs of New York and will also schedule appointments within the Tri-State Area (Westchester County, Connecticut, New Jersey and Long Island), provided you collect me from the train station and drop me off there after the session.  (I am, unfortunately, one of the few people left who don’t drive.)

Above all, be ready to have a good time. These sessions are a lot of fun and you should be prepared to laugh a lot. We’ll chat in advance about any sort of particular shots you’re after and pick a location and date.  I’ll suggest you take your dog or long-haired cat to the groomer if you want your pet looking its best, and I'll ask you a number of questions about your pet.  But that’s about it.

Our pets usually do what they want and that's exactly as it should be. I capture whatever happens. When you see the final results, you can be sure of three things: you’ll laugh, you’ll have a hard time picking your favorite, and you’ll have a permanent record of a fun day.

How will you work with my dog/cat? Do I get involved in the shoot?

I wouldn’t dream of doing it without you!  I adore working with animals: you’ll hear a lot of funny noises coming out of me, and you'll find me down on the floor alongside your pet, but, rest assured, you will be a very active and very important part of the session.

What about my cat?  She’s impossible; she doesn’t do a thing you ask her to do and she might bite or scratch!  Do you use catnip or treats?

Well, of course she doesn’t do anything she’s asked to do, she’s a cat!

I never use catnip and I don't prefer using treats.

Then what do you do for cats?

For the most part, I just let cats be themselves.  They have such big, wonderful, expressive personalities it’s more than enough.  You can  expect lots of funny noises coming out of me, and I also bring a cat-teaser toy.  You get to hold the toy and play with kitty.

Drop me a line or phone me; I’ll be pleased to answer any questions.
